The locomotive was lettered by SIEC for its new owner before taking possession from SIEC. The customer was Eugene A. Shaffer of Rosman, North Carolina. The "Thomas" lettered on the locomotive's fuel bunker is the name of the locomotive. SIEC's records indicate they purchased this Climax from the Amicalola Marble Co. (AMC) of Ball Ground, Georgia. AMC is not noted in the generally accepted owner roster of this locomotive.
