Note the absence of a steam dome on the boiler forward of the crew cab and whistle protruding from it.  Class "B"s of this configuration were far less common than those with the steam dome forward of the cab.   We can only guess the extreme bend in the whistle pipe was an owner adjustment to prevent it from being damaged by overhead obstacles due to its abnormally high location.
